MUA Pro-Brow Ultimate Eyebrow Kit

Dear readers,

I bought this palette when MUA had the 40% off + 5 free nail quakes offer. I wasn't a big fan of penciled or filled in brows before, but seeing how cheap this was I thought heck, why not? and I'm so happy I did!

The palette promises to be an all-in-one kit; there are 2 brow shades (dark and light), one highlight shade, 1 gel, tweezers, and a double sided angle brush.

For daytime I normally use a mix of the 2 shades, but for night time I go for the darkest one. The brush, albeit a tiny one, does a brilliant job.

With regard to the gel, I honestly think that this is the best brow gel that I have ever used. It's not glossy, you only need a teeny amount of product for your brows to stay in place all day (tried and tested several times!)

Tbh, I haven't tried using the tweezers because I always use my trusty Tweezerman, so I really can't say whether it is any good.

You can get the Pro-Brow Palette here for £3.50.

MAC Pro Wear Lipglass in Lasting Achievement

Dear readers,

I'm not such a gloss wearer during the colder months because usually when I head outside and it's windy my hair ends up sticking to my lips and I hate it!

...but my lovely sister in law gave me this lip gloss for Christmas and I love it. I have been converted to a dark colour gloss lover :p

The gloss (or glass) I'm talking about is the MAC Pro Longwear Lipglass in 'Lasting Achievement'..

It's a plummy/burgundy colour (it kind of has the colour of red wine to me - it's hard to describe its exact colour). In the tube the colour has tiny gold shimmers in it but  it doesn't show on the lips.

It lasts a good 2-4 hours depending on if you're eating/drinking etc which is quite good considering it's a gloss. I used this for going to the cinema and after eating huge amounts of popcorn and drinking cola my lips were still stained by the colour.

Morning Winter Wedding

Dear readers,

Today we attended a wedding of a client of mine (she looked gorgeous!).

When I received the invitation, I went into panic mode because:

1) I haven't been to a lot of morning weddings so didn't know what to wear
2) the morning weddings I had attended before were in Spring/Summer so I couldn't wear any of those dresses for this wedding.

As usual, I left it until the last day to go shopping for a dress (even though I wondered if I could grab myself a gorgeous dress on sale). I headed to New Look and I fell in love with an asymmetrical dress.

Truth be told, I've never been a fan of these types of dresses, and never thought that I would indeed have gotten one.

My problem is that I hate wearing short dresses for weddings, and I hate wearing long ones (I find them to be more appropriate for an evening wedding or summer morning wedding).

I love this dress because the shorter front part comes a bit higher up the knee, it fits really well, the colour is gorgeous, and it has some lace.

I paired the dress with a pearl bracelet and dangly earrings (both from New Look), and peep toe shoes. I curled my hair with tongs about an hour before the wedding but as you can clearly see from the photo, I was left with no curls at all after about 5 minutes of unpinning them :/

yours truly

Ebay 15 Concealer Palette

Dear readers,

I am usually wary of buying really cheap makeup (especially from China), but after stumbling across the 15 colour concealer palette on Ebay, I just couldn't resist buying it.

You can get one for $4.29 from here (this is not the seller from whom I bought it from because I can't find him/her on my purchase list history)

After all, I thought, it's so cheap (about $5 for the palette inc shipping) that if it's no good or if it makes me break out I can just chuck it in the bin.

I've had this for a couple of months now and I love it. The concealers are very high coverage and they stay on for ages (I use powder on top though - since my face is rather oily).

The concealers come in a black small palette (which is also ideal for travelling with). There is 1 highlighter, 1 green corrector, 1 pink corrector, and 1 yellow corrector. The rest are all different shades of concealer.

The dark shades can be used for contouring instead of using a bronzer. They work amazingly well.

I will definitely buy this again and would recommend to others too.

MAC Russian Red Lipstick

Dear readers,

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas! I spent mine with my family <3

So you all know how lately I've become obsessed with red lipstick.

And one lipstick I always wanted to get was MAC's Russian Red.... and I finally have it [cheers Gab!]

It is a really matte, true red lipstick. It goes on really smoothly and it stays on for ages! I definitely recommend this, especially if you would like to add a classic red lipstick to your collection.

I also think that this colour can be used both in Summer and Winter, so that's a plus.

Applied straight from the tube, without lip pencil

A Closer Look: MUA Undressed Palette

Dear Readers,

I have yet to try the MUA Undressed Palette, but I couldn't resist not posting swatches of this much raved about palette.

Even though there are a couple of shades which don't really show up on my skin tone, I will still use them as bases or as blending colours, so that's ok.

This is what it looks like;

Will definitely use this a lot!

MUA mini haul

Dear readers,

My much awaited for MUA order has finally arrived! Hurrah, hurrah!

I had ordered this when they had the 3 for 2 offer back in November. The shipping took quite a while but it's understandable since a lot of orders must have been placed back then.

Thanks to the offer, I was discounted £5.00 off the total bill, which is really good considering that their prices are so cheap to begin with.

This is what I got...

Shade 13

Shade 1

Shade 10

So I have yet to test these, but what I love about them is that 1) they only cost £1 each, 2) there's a small jar which you can unscrew from the bottom of the lipstick and there's more product there, and 3) when I tried one of them earlier just for curiosity's sake, I was amazed by how smoothly they go on!

Undressed Palette

Dusk Till Dawn Palette
Will be posting swatches for the eye shadows in a future blog post (will try to upload it by the end of the week)

Left F2 Foundation Blending Brush
Right E3 Blending Eyeshadow Brush

Liquid Water Proof Eyeliner

Lip Liner in 'Red Drama'
I am sooo curious to see how long lasting the eyeliner is! Especially since it only costs £1!

....and I can't wait till I receive the next order (fingers crossed it will arrive before Xmas!)
